I am always seeing the funny ads with cows and chickens, eating at their near locations, or admiring how they are closed on Sundays so that their employees can attend church and devote some time to God. I have heard about the awesome benefits of working at Chick-Fil-A also, but I never knew the story until recently. I recieved a gift card to Chick-Fil-A (Lucky me!!) and on the back of it was Chick-Fil-A’s story…..
“Like any good story, this one has humble beginnings.
A long time ago, 1946 to be exact, Truett Cathy opened a diner in Atlanta called The Dwarf Grill. The place was small, so the name fit. But Truett was an innnovative businessman who served great food. So the business grew.
Then about 15 years later- just as the burger fever began to grip the nation – Truett had a unique idea. Instead of a quarter pund of beef on a bun, why not substitue a plump, boneless breast of chicken?
And thus, in the early 1960s, he introduced the orginal Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich. In 1967, the first Chick-fil-A Restaurant opened in Atlanta’s Greenbriar Mall. And shortly thereafter, his chicken sandwich really took off.
Today, millions of folks enjoy our orginal chicken sandwich, still cooked Truett’s special way, hand-breaded in each restaurant. Every day.
And it’s our hope that every meal, like this story, has a happy ending.”
“Nearly every moment of every day we have the opportunity to give something to someone else – our time, our love, our resources. I have always found more joy in giving when I did not expect anything in return.”
